blog post ideas

When I first decided that I would launch a website/blog, my initial hesitation was, “What in the world am I going to write about?” Then came all the other normal insecurities: What if no one reads my posts? Do I have anything important to say? Will I be wasting time? Other people are successful, but that’s just not for me. I’m too busy to do this. I have way too many other things on my plate. My life isn’t really all that interesting or exciting.

Because I was having all of those negative thoughts and feelings, I knew this was something I had to explore. Ignoring insecurities and negative self-talk is definitely not easy, but if I can spend any amount of my brain power telling myself that I can’t or shouldn’t do something, then I know I need to make it a priority and actually DO it. Shut. That. Voice. Down. I would NEVER let someone else talk to me that way, or allow someone else to tell me I couldn’t do something, so WHY would I allow myself to speak to me that way?

While I am far from having it all figured out, I did create this workbook to help get me started. I plan to check off every single one of these topics personally, and challenge you to do the same as well. Your voice is important. Your opinion and point of view is valuable. If you feel yourself dismissing an idea or dream due to negative thoughts, please remember that sometimes we are our own worst enemy and are much harder on ourselves. Kick those thoughts to the curb, and do you! Be you!

my top 5 podcasts

I shared a little bit already about my obsession with knowledge. (It’s a problem, but the best kind to have right?) One of my favorite ways to gather new info is through podcasts. I can listen to them in the car, while I’m cooking dinner, or even at night before I go to bed. It’s a easy way for me to squeeze in a little something every day.

Today, I am sharing some of my current favorite podcasts. Topics on these range from business to self improvement to inspiring stories, but I love them all!

podcast, marketing, personal brand, grow your business, entrepreneur

If her two best-selling books (Girl, Wash Your Face and Girl, Stop Apologizing) aren’t proof enough that this lady is incredible, then check out her podcast! Rachel Hollis shares all the tools to improve yourself and your business!

This podcast is hosted by Dani & Kriss who interview content creators about what they do each and every day. If you have questions about building a personal brand, gaining new followers, and starting an online business, then this would be a great resource for you!

#5 Boss Girl Creative

Those are the five podcasts that are currently on rotation in my car! I may only get 5 minutes of an episode at a time, but the motivation and knowledge that I can squeeze into 5 minute increments are worth it. I am always on the hunt for good, inspiring information.

If you love podcasts as much as I do, I would love to hear which ones are your favorite!

i don’t look the part…

I am currently on day “I have no clue how long it’s been since I washed my hair” and I have a million tabs open in my brain. It’s a constant struggle of wanting to get all the things done [right now].

I attended a conference last week (Ah-mazing!), am currently enrolled in multiple online courses, and teach myself something new every.single.day. I don’t want to ever settle. I always want to know more, be more, be better. I have an addiction to knowledge. Which then turns into a giant to-do list of all the things I need to change, implement, create, or start. I have the best job(s) in the world. I get to have crazy ideas. Big ideas and big goals. And I get to crush them. 👊🏼 Sometimes they don’t work out exactly as planned, but they always work out.

I just started a new book about how I don’t have to apologize for working hard and the #momguilt that I often put on myself and others try to throw my way can get the heck out my head. 👋🏻

I think I have always held back from sharing the knowledge I have gained over the years because I never felt like I was an “expert” at anything. Why would anyone listen to me? Why would anyone be impressed with what I have to say? It has taken multiple people, and being in a room full of other boss ladies, to realize that I know a lot of what they are saying…I have just never been brave enough to stand up and share it. I may not always look the part 💁🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️, and it may have been 10 days since I last washed by hair, but this girl is working. And I love it. Ladies, don’t apologize for being awesome- you’ve earned it!! 👏🏼👏🏼

Have you ever let limiting beliefs hold you back from achieving your dreams? Sometimes, the biggest obstacle is ourselves. Don’t let the fear of failure, or embarrassment, or lack of knowledge stop you from progressing in your business. Follow your heart – your head will find a way to catch up.
